Introducing MIQE guidelines

Minimum information for Publication of Quantitative
Real- Time PCR Experiments

Many researchers are aware of the great potential behind quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR). This application has in short time become a popular analytical tool. However, a lack of consensus exists on how best to perform and interpret the qPCR experiments.

Luckily, in 2009 an international research team published The MIQE Guidelines, a set of standards for producing and publishing qPCR data.
The aim of the MIQE Guidelines is to Provide specifications on which steps that are needed to conduct RT-qPCR experiments properly and to Provide guidelines to reviewers and editors to assure quality of published data.

The MIQE guidelines are: ”A checklist to help ensure the integrity of the scientific literature, promote consistency between laboratories, and increase
experimental transparency.”
